Ms. Hall,

A weed is defined as an unwanted plant. Crabgrass is a very competitive, aggressive grass that will "choke out" other grass species. However, it is still a high quality grass and can be used as a forage. Please check out this publication that will help you determine if you the crabgrass is a weed for you: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/pdffiles/AG/AG19500.pdf
