Septic

Asked August 30, 2016, 1:13 PM EDT

We have a septic. Our neighbors have poplar trees that are approx. 20 ft from our drain field. The roots are extending towards our drain fields.. We are concerned about the roots getting into the drain field. Is there anything we can put in the septic to kill the roots?

There are several root killer formulations that you can use in septic systems that can kill and even decay the roots without harming the trees.
Be sure to read the label before use or contact your local septic professional.

Here is a simple Google search for some products. Again, I am not recommending one or another. It is best to read the label.
