paint thinner

Hi, I found a jar of about a cup of what I thought was water outside my new home. I thought "mosquito breeding ground" and dumped it in the garden. Turns out from the smell it was probably paint thinner. It was there for about 2 hours as I had to go out and then wasn't sure initially what to do. I then dug out soil to about 9-12 inches, where it doesn't smell anymore, hopefully got it all but I'm really not sure. I threw it out and washed up well. I will replace the soil, but is there anything else I should be doing? How many feet away do you think is safe to plant food crops? Thank you.

Soil micro organisms will break down the product you dumped and will volatilize and disperse in vapor. It is okay to plant. Incorporate plenty of organic matter.

Thank you SO much!
