Oak Tree New Growth is drooping
I have a young oak tree who has about two feet of new growth on the end of the main leader branch. But the new growth part is drooping! There is a great deal of new growth on all of the other branches that seems to be doing well and the leaves on the leader branch are doing great, too. What is causing this? Am I going to end up with a weird bent tree?
Drooping and wayward branch development, sometimes associated with rapid growth, may correct itself. Otherwise, if the leader is healthy, return it to an upright position following the recommendations on Page 25 of this publication. (Especially note the section titled "Leader.")
