found in a shady meadow

Asked August 23, 2016, 7:08 PM EDT

Does anyone recognize this plant? It was growing in a ravine next to some ferns and arrowhead plants. Lots of shade and the soil was moist. Oaks, maples, and hollies are prevalent nearby.

Thanks :)

I think it may be lizard's tail, Saururus cernuus. You can read more about it here, http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=SACE
