I am not aware of a grass called "Pompadour grass". The invasive grass whose name is closest to what you've written is pampas grass. This common name usually refers to Cortaderia sellona, which does not do well here, but is invasive in California. However, sometimes the invasive Miscanthus sacchariflorus (also known as amur silver grass) is sometimes called pampas grass. I'll assume that is what you have. It is somewhat invasive in Minnesota.
