I'm wondering if you know what type of moth this is. I haven't found its photo on the Internet. Thank you!

This is actually a butterfly! When you look at the antennae all butterflies have thread like antennae with a knob at the end. Moths have straight antennae with an end point or feather shaped antennae.

This butterfly is a hackberry emperor.

I'm surprised that it's a butterfly, I was focusing on how it rested with its wings down and thought only moths did that ( and butterfly wings are always up) :) I appreciate your taking the time to respond to my question. Now I can share my new information with my sons. One of them took the photo for me.
