Asked August 11, 2016, 4:51 PM EDT

Hello. This grass has developed in my neighbor's lawn this past season. It has taken over most of her lawn and now coming into mine. It is bright green grows very tall very quickly. It has a short root system that pulls out very easily. Can you tell me what it is and how to stop it from coming into my lawn?

What you have is yellow nutsedge,a persistent perennial that reproduces from underground nutlets.Because of its growing habit, it will take a couple of seasons to completely eradicate this pesky weed. Products available include sedgehammer or Spectricide weed stop. The attached publication will list the active ingredients by chemical name. Follow label instructions and prcautions on temperature.http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/pests/weeds/hgic2312.html
