Blackberries can do very well in Talbot County. You will need to be sure you choose the right site for them and the variety for the growing conditions. Here are two places to start.

Web soil survey - you can find out the type of soils you have through this online tool. I would also recommend a soil test to see what your ph and fertility is. We can help with both at the Talbot Extension office 28577 Marys Court Suite 1 Easton MD. http://websoilsurvey.sc.egov.usda.gov/App/HomePage.htm

Varieties - This is a helpful website to recommend varieties and practices. You can click on brambles https://extension.umd.edu/smallfruit/berries . This is another helpful site from our home and garden center https://extension.umd.edu/growit/fruit-profiles/getting-started-small-fruit
