monarch eggs

Asked August 5, 2016, 2:06 PM EDT

I have seen a couple monarchs the last couple weeks on my milkweed flowers usually everyday. They stay around and on the flowers for some time. However, I am not seeing any eggs on the underside of the leaves. My neighbor is saying the same thing. Have you heard any talk about this? Maybe I have just male butterflies??

They are probably just 'eating lunch' at your place and laying eggs somewhere else. Both are necessary. Don't worry. You may still have eggs. The Monarchs are late this year due to a freeze kill in Texas earlier this spring.
