Ash Tree

Is this an ash tree? Do I need to have it sprayed to prevent the Emerald Ash Borer?

This does look like an ash, but your photos are not adequate for a definitive identification. http://www.emeraldashborer.info/documents/E-2942.pdf We would need a photo of a branch that shows whether the leaves (sets of leaflets) are opposite on the branch. If it is an ash and you want to keep it, you will have to spray it repeatedly. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/invasives/emerald-ash-borer http://www.emeraldashborer.info/documents/Multistate_EAB_Insecticide_Fact_Sheet.pdf It might be good to know that it is cheaper to take down a live tree than a dead one. vw
