Our church has recently purchased an abandoned day care to renovate into a worship space. It is located on Wyoming in the South Park area of Dayton. Part of the zoning requirements are to plant 3, 2-1/2 caliper trees. I'm looking for someone knowledgeable who can suggest native trees that would add to the neighborhood tree diversity, be suitable for this location, and meet the requirements.

You have at least one local resource who should be able to help. Wendy Van Buren works for the Ohio Division of Forestry as their urban forester for your region. Her email address is wendi.vanburen@dnr.state.oh.us
Phone (513) 897-1082

Address:
8570 East State Route 73 (as of Sept. 4, 2015)
Waynesville, OH 45068

Wendy works with communities on tree planting and should be able to give you some more information on what works well in the area and what she recommends.
