Repellex systemic granular (capsaicin)

Asked July 26, 2016, 7:06 PM EDT

Hi, This season I planted a large butterfly/pollinator garden with very small, young native plants. I am having a hard time getting some of the plants established due to hungry rabbits. I have considered using Repellex systemic granular capsaicin, but I do not want to use it if there is any danger of harming and/or repelling the butterflies and bees that I am trying to attract. That would kind of destroy the whole purpose! Do you know if it is safe for butterflies and bees? Thank you, Diane

Capsaisin is toxic to bees.

Fencing is the option that makes most sense and is the most effective.
