Bird bath

Asked July 26, 2016, 3:11 PM EDT

We recently purchased a new bird bath. It is made of concrete and is very colorful. We put it out 5 days ago with a full bath of water. NO BIRDS WILL COME TO IT. Can you give some suggestions of what we can do to entice the birds to use the bath.

Birds need time to find the bird bath. putting it near a bird feeder helps them locate the bird bath. To make it most attractive to them: put it near shrubs or plants where they can perch and seek cover for protection. Also, put it in shade or part shade. Birds want the water to be cool so they can cool off in it.

Be sure to change the water weekly so it is not dirty, hot, or full of mosquito larvae.
