What plant is this???

Asked July 26, 2016, 12:11 PM EDT

Hello! I have had this plant for over two years, and it has grown more than ten times it's size. I got it from a friend so I don't know exactly what it is and have been trying to figure it out forever. It's a little vine - like, but not quite the same structure, and it leaks orange liquid if broken. Leaves look a little waxy, with curvy ridges on the outside. The biggest leaf is almost the size of my hand, but not all of them are that big. It's about two feet tall but is being held up by a stake. I would like to trim it, but I don't know what it is and believe I should start there. Thanks for the help!

From the photo, it looks like Swedish ivy (Plectranthus australis).
