Tree help

Asked July 25, 2016, 12:49 PM EDT

My wife and I just purchased a new build house in Parker (suburb of Denver) and we need to landscape the back yard. We would like some help picking out some trees, both deciduous, ornamental and evergreen. We have two kids so we would like something that will give them shade in the summer but yet not create too much mess to bring into the house. Something with minimal pollen/ seed pods or nuisance fruit or acorn type stuff. We have plenty of room to plant and would like a good mixture of shapes, sizes, leaf color in summer/fall, and all around strong and beautiful trees. You guys are the experts so so if you could please lend me some knowledge we would be indeed grateful. Thank you so much for your time and help.

Welcome to Colorado!

Here is a Fact Sheet on Native Trees for CO..http://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/yard-garden/native-trees-for-colorado-landscapes-7-421/.....Here is also a Fact Sheet for Native Shrubs http://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/yard-garden/native-shrubs-for-colorado-landscapes-7-422/ You can put the names of the trees/shrubs into Google Images (or something similar) and see if you like the looks of that plant. Hope that helps!
