Obsession Nandina problem

Asked July 22, 2016, 3:33 PM EDT

I planted 3 Obession Nandina last fall. One has died and one has strange spots. What killed the first and what should I do to save the rest?

It is not uncommon for a shrub to fail to establish. Sometimes they are planted incorrectly. Sometimes they simply do not get enough water. Sometimes it is impossible to say--it could be a root problem. We would suggest removing the affected leaves of the remaining plant and keeping it well watered if there is not an inch of rain in a week. https://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG86%20Common%20Abi... https://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG202_Planting_Prob... vw
