current plants and sand

Asked July 21, 2016, 11:24 AM EDT

I have a couple of current plants in pots. I have some sand left over from a sand box tire. Would the plants grow in a mixture of sand and dirt? There is probably a couple of inches of sand on top of soil.

Sand is very fast draining: it does not hold moisture well, and dries out quickly. If watered frequently nutrients will get leached out. While succulent plants thrive in this environment, it wouldn't be good for currents.
