Algae Bloom contamination in irrigation water

Asked July 18, 2016, 12:04 PM EDT

We used irrigation water to water our vegetable garden prior to July 12, 2016. We live in West Jordan. Since then, we've used culinary water for the garden. Are the vegetables contaminated from the algae bloom in Utah Lake and Jordan River?

Sorry, but I'm not qualified to answer your question. You should contact the Utah Department of Environmental Quality. Here is a link to their website http://deq.utah.gov/locations/U/utahlake/algal-bloom.htm. It has some information that might be of help. You might also want to contact the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.
Sorry I can 't be of more direct help.
