Please identify this vine, and any tips for removal.
Just moved into new home this year, and we found this vine bushing up at the base of this vine maple tree. It sprouts new shoots this size every week. Fortunately, the hose shaped roots tend to grow close to the surface, but they can get super long. I am hoping that the little string sized roots that snap off do not regrow into new vine plants.

Good morning and thank you for your question. This is a trumpet vine and is quite tenacious. Planted in the right place it can be amazing for color and to attract hummingbirds. Growing up your Vine Maple is definitely not what you want. It could
easily choke out the tree. You will have to stay on top of it and try to get as many as the roots out as possible. Using a paint brush, you can use glyphosate to paint on the foliage. Glyphosate can be found in products such as Roundup. Even with this you will have to be tenatious yourself.
I hope this helps!
