When can I divide daylillies, peonies and sedum. AND What is the best way to get rid of a lot of big leaved plants with stickers on the end. I have a lot of them.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

The best times to divide perennials are early spring when the plants have just emerged and foliage is still short, and then in the fall, when temps are not so hot. If dividing in the fall, make sure to do this at least 6 weeks before the ground freezes.....early to mid September is a good time. Make sure to keep the planted divisions well watered.

As to how to get rid of plants with stickers..there are no special techniques...just wear protective clothing (long sleeves, long pants, gloves).

Hope this helps.
