what is this sticky grass plant I got

I was in a creek with my kids and felt this thing on my leg so I looked it up it was sticky and then we proceeded on left the creek went over to the playground and then all the sudden I felt this burning pain and then I had scratches all over myself afterward it's a sticky plant to touching it and was very Rough tot

You really need to see the grass plant to key it out. Your best bet would be to take a sample to your local Cornell Cooperative Extension office. Here is the contact for Monroe County.
