Japanese Lilac Tree Leaves Chewed

Asked July 5, 2016, 11:32 PM EDT

It looks as though the leaves are being eaten on this Japanese Lilac tree. Any ideas/suggestions on how to treat it? Thank you for your assistance. Dee Dee Heffernan

From your pictures it looks like insect damage. I would encourage you to look for consistent presence of insects. It is currently Japanese Beetle season and they do like lilac leaves. I have attached a link to an article below that shows a picture of them as well as gives information. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/fruit/integrated-pest-management-for-home-raspberry-growers/japanese-beetles/
