Which bird mite is this?

Asked June 29, 2016, 10:20 PM EDT

I found out that there was a bird nest above my bedroom window, and since then bird mites have been on my window, walls and bed. I've seen that there are different types, and I wanted to know which I had to see how long 'till they eventually die out. My mum wont pay for extermination. And I'm not sure how long I can take it. I've already had very little sleep, because I'm too scared to sleep with them near. I'd just like to know, and also ways to get rid of them quicker if possible. Thanks

Your picture is not great but it looks like a regular bird mite. There is not much to worry. Once you remove the nest and ann the material and clean everything well, you could make an application of a household pesticide the the locations where the nests were found. These mites will not survive feeding humans and in air-conditioned spaces for very long, so they should be dead soon.
