The Caryopteris has galls caused by eriophyid mites. Prune out the galls now. Next spring...as soon as the leaf buds open treat the plant with a registered miticide. Cutting the plants to the ground and destroying the prunings will reduce pressure. There are very few miticide available to home gardeners. If you cannot locate one try an insecticidal soap at budbreak break and treat twice more at 7-10 day intervals. Eriophyid mites won't kill the plant...they'll just disfigured it. If you treat it ..it should recover....

Thank you so very much!!!!!
