Found this guy by my bed
Your spider is a huntsman spider, perhaps Heteropoda venatoria, in the family Sparasidae, and is sometimes called a brown crab spider. It’s native to tropical areas but does occur widely across the US.
Another expert sent this info to a client: “It is a wandering spider that does not build a web; is mostly active at night; and hides in secluded places during the day. They feed on a variety of larger insects, including cockroaches and scorpions so they are often considered beneficial to have in and around homes in the tropics.” (In the tropics, people appreciate the huntsman’s ability to catch cockroaches indoors.)
