We had our 'Aristocrat' Callery Pear tree cut down and the stump ground nearly two years ago and shoots from the roots are still coming up, despite attempts to stop it from happening by applying Glyphosate on the shoots, and constantly them cutting to the ground. Help! What can we do to stop this from ever happening again?

Ornamental fruit trees can have the tendency to send up suckers if the entire root system is not removed. If there are any parts of the root system left suckering may be an issue. All you can do is prune the suckers and immediately apply a glyphosate or brush killer to the cut stem. Or continue to prune the suckers to cut off nutrients to the roots.
