We have been in our home for over 10 years and, despite our best efforts, can't seem to get rid of the knotweed that keeps coming back in our mulch area. I've read that some states will help homeowners get rid of this invasive plant because it greatly threatens the environment including waterways. Does Maryland offer such help?

Persistence is the key to getting rid of any weed. As soon as you see the first baby leaves, get it dug up or zapped with herbicide (if you use herbicides). If you allow it to grow even slightly, the root system will be enhanced and it will become that much more difficult to eliminate. Maryland does not go to homes to help eliminate weeds. vw
