Zucchini plants

Asked June 22, 2016, 4:25 PM EDT

My Zucchini plants have huge leaves. But every time a zucchini gets about 5-6 inches the flower falls off and they rot. I noticed there are no bees this year. What can I do or do I just pull the plants out

It is very common for squash to get a fungal disease known as choanephora rot. Here is the info: https://extension.umd.edu/growit/choanephora-rot

Be sure not to water overhead. This encourages the fungus.
