Cherry Tree dying - help!

Asked June 21, 2016, 4:18 PM EDT

Hello, I have a cherry tree in my back yard that seems to be dying. It flowered (although not robustly) this year but over the past few months the leaves on several limbs have fallen off and several limbs appear to be dead. There also appears to be a light green moss growing on the trunk/ limbs. Is there anything we can do to save it? Thanks!

I really can't tell from a photo but what you are telling me sounds serious. If you wish you could have a certified arborist come out and make a diagnosis. You can find one by visiting http://treesaregood.com/home.aspx Click on Find an Arborist and put in your zip code. Cherry trees are quite susceptible to Black Knot, a fatal fungal disease.http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/fruit/integrated-pest-management-for-home-stone-frui...
