Pest problem in my sugar maple

Asked June 8, 2016, 4:13 PM EDT

The leaves on my sugar maple are turning brown and shriveling. I have found a bug in it that I think is the problem. Will try to attach pictures. Can you tell me what is causing this and how to fix it? Thanks.

Because this is a home horticulture/insect pest issue, we recommend contacting the UVM Extension “Ask a Master Gardener” service for assistance (http://www.uvm.edu/mastergardener/?Page=help.html

). Questions may be submitted by phone or via an online form. The online form provides photo upload in addition to description of the problem.

Phone Helpline -- Current hours: Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.. Call 1-800-639-2230 (Vermont only) outside Chittenden County or 802-656-5421 in Chittenden County only.

Unfortunately, I am unable to forward your inquiry to the Master Gardener Helpline because their services are not affiliated with eXtension.org “Ask-An-Expert” and I apologize for this inconvenience.
