Hydrangea tree

Asked June 5, 2016, 10:43 AM EDT

I have a 1 year old hydrangea tree that has just developed spots on one set of leaves. I have attached a photo. Can you tell me what this is and if I can do anything for it. Thank you

The spots on the leaves are actually areas in which aphids have sucked out the 'green' in the leaves. Check the underside of leaves for tiny insects. A strong spray of water should dislodge them. If you have to, you can use an insecticide but it needs to be applied to the underside of the leaves.
