leaf tissue is turning brown and disappearing leaving a lacy effect. Just the leaf rib is left. All leaves are affected now. The shrubs are part of the landscaping around the front porch. Any treatment? Thanks for your help. Donna

It sounds like high bush cranberry beetle. Prune off any infected branches if they are small enough. If too many branches are infected, or they are the large branches, you will probably need to apply a chemical pesticide. check that they are effective for beetles.

All 6 bushes are totally affected with the two in the middle nearly bare of any leaves. Can this much damage be done with out seeing any beetles. I checked multiple times. Also happened last year and I did nothing about it.
