Is this a gypsy moth? If so, what is the best way to get rid of them?

Thank you for your photo. Based on lifecycle, gypsy moths are still in the caterpillar stage in Ohio. Where did you find this insect? How many have you seen?

I found approximately 30 of them on the east side of our garage on the door. Due to the high concentration i was concerned. There were cicadas there as well.

It looks like it might be the adult of the hickory tussock moth. Do you have any hickory trees nearby?

Here is a helpful factsheet that you might find useful. https://www4.uwm.edu/fieldstation/naturalhistory/bugoftheweek/hickory-tussock-moth.cfm

Please let me know if you have any further questions. Good luck! Amy
