Pollen compatibility for plum

Hi, can you tell me if plum cultivars BlackIce & Mount Royal can cross pollinate, or do I HAVE to have Toka for BlackIce? Thanks!

Mount Royal is a European variety (Prunus domestica); Black Ice is a hybrid American plum. Mount Royal is self-pollinating, so you wouldn't need another tree for it. But Black Ice needs a pollinator. Toka is the preferred choice, but a native American plum (P. americana) or Canadian plum (P. nigra) would also work. However, Mount Royal would not. Read here:
