Planting iris in spring

I live in Colorado - Denver. Will iris' live if planted now? I don't care about blooming this year. Not sure what kind but likely Bearded variety

The rhizomes of iris go dormant in the high heat of July, August & September so rule of thumb is its best to plant, thin and plant after blooms are spent.

Plant in a sunny, well drained location. They like room to breathe, no mulch and prune foliage in the fall
