Is this fruit edible, and is it tasty?
I would take a sample in of the leaves and the fruit to the Alachua County Extension Office over by the airport and see if they can identify it. Is there a pit inside of the tree?
It doesn't look like a commercial peach tree, but it could be a rootstock. At the office, they will be able to cut the fruit open and see. It looks like the tree has spurs, which would be indicative of an apple or pear tree, but the fruit does look like a peach.
Sorry I can't be of more help!
