I know that different types of clematis are pruned differently. I don't know what kind of clematis I have and so I haven't pruned it. Should I just prune it after it flowers this spring and hope for the best?
We assume that you know when it blooms and whether the blooms are large or small. These characteristics will allow you to figure out which type of clematis that you have. The following links discuss the types of clematis and how to prune each type. https://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG107_Pruning_%20Cl... http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cfiv/homeowners/031004.html vw
