Frozen Asparagus

Asked May 22, 2016, 11:27 AM EDT

My asparagus all froze a couple of weeks ago as it was growing very well...not sure what to do. Cut all back? Leave it be and call it a 'year'? Please advise, thank you!

You should clean out the frozen material (it could harbor mold, mildew and disease) and wait for next year. Make sure to leave as much living material as possible. The plants rely on the foliage to supply roots with nutrients for next year.
