I am trying to locate information on what is required to make our farm sales tax exempt. Is there a limitation as to the size of the farm(acreage, income)? What is necessary to file with the state? Does the farm have to have it's own EIN or can the farm owner use theirs? Any information is greatly appreciated.

I'll need more information to answer your question. Sales of farm products are all taxable regardless of farm size.
If you are referring to purchasing inputs sales tax free you can access the correct sales tax exemption form at the Ohio Dept. of Taxation.

From what I have researched and been told, some items purchased for use on the farm can be tax excempt. I cannot find any information to determine what qualifies the farm to be able to receive tax excempt status on the items that qualify and what needs to be done in order to obtain this. I have been told we only need to fill out forms with each vendor.

The following articles should answer most of the questions that you have on sales tax exemptions for farm businesses.
