How can I remove grass growing in my vinca minor ground cover?
Lane County Oregon
I wish I had an easy answer for you.Grass in a ground cover is one of the worst problems. It is just hard physical labor. Dig as much as you can. If it is thick, you might even consider digging up the ground cover, getting rid of all the grass, putting down a landscape cloth and then cutting Xs in it to replant the ground cover. Vinca is in itself a good competitor, so you are dealing with a tough grass. If the vinca is not well established, perhaps you can successfully dig out the grass, but you will have to keep after it all the time until it finally weakens and gives up. Vinca does reproduce easily, so unless it is quite hot, it will survive the dig and transplant pretty well.
