This OSU Extension website has a garden calendar that lists what to do each month. The site for May is here:http://extension.oregonstate.edu/gardening/gardening-calendar

I can summarize from each month the suggestions for planting bulbs: Plant dahlias, gladioli, and tuberous begonias in mid-May. In June plant dahlias and gladioli. No suggestions for July and August. In September plant daffodils, tulips, and crocus for spring bloom. In November there is still time to plant spring-flowering bulbs, such as tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses.

Check out the calendar for other suggestions. Thanks for using Ask an Expert.
