Apple Tree production and care

Asked May 17, 2016, 2:34 PM EDT

I am a recent farmer looking to start selling at farmers markets within the next year and have noticed blossom wilt I believe in my apple orchard. I was setting things up for an organic production and understand the challenges and I was looking for possible management practices I could employ. I also see the small worm bores in the new apples and not sure which worm that might be.

You have not indicated what varieties you are trying to grow, their age or rootstock. For organic production I would suggest you download a copy of "A Grower's Guide to Organic Apples" from Cornell University at http://hdl.handle.net/1813/42886

As to your current question the wilt could be the bacterial disease called Fire Blight and the 'worms' could be plum curculio insects
