Can you recommend a hardy, fast growing, deer resistant evergreens that can be used as a privacy screen. The area is in partial shade and has moist soil but not wet. Located in Eden Prairie. Please provide options if available.

While there are a number of plants that deer seem to avoid, be aware that during a hard winter deer will eat anything - there is no deer-proof plant!

It may be hard to find an evergreen that is fast growing and likes partial shade and damp feet. Chamaecyparus is the only one that prefers moist soil. It comes in a few different sizes, shapes (bush or tree) and colors (gold or green, but the gold will not color up nicely in the shade) Here is one variety:
Hinoki cypress https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamaecyparis_obtusa Although it says that it's slow growing I have one that is now 30 feet tall, and less than 15 years old.

Good luck, and thanks for contacting aAe
