We just increased the size of our pond and we cannot get the mud under control. The pond is at the bottom of a large hill which at this point has no vegetation around it. We have planted grass, but it is not growing well, as it has either washed out or dried up. (We cannot water it due to the size of the area and the slope of the hill). Can you recommend good grasses that will not take over but still help control the mud runoff? PS...we have tested the water and everything looks really good right now.

Being that Im in a totally different part of the country (Texas) I can't recommend a grass that might work for you. What works here - may not work there.

I would contact your county extension agent and work with them on a plan to help with this.
