Almond tree

Asked May 3, 2016, 2:56 PM EDT

I planted an "All in One" almond tree last year. We recently removed a tree near it so I was wondering if you recommend that I plant another type of almond there for better pollination? I live in Medford near the Rogue Regional Med. Center. If so what kind of almond do you recommend? The tree is for eating not for the oil. Bonnie Patterson

Hi Bonnie

I could not find any OSU information on almonds, but I did find the following article from the Oregonian, and I pasted the website below. Almonds bloom early so you may have problems some years with a late spring frost. The "All in One" is self-pollinating so you do not need another almond tree. Thanks for using Ask an Expert.
