Clover in lawn
How do I get rid of this weed that has overtaken several spots in our lawn? I applied a post emergent broad leaf weed killer with absolutely no effect at all. The areas are in the east side of our lawn much of which is shady but the newest area is in full sun until about 1 pm.
The weed in your lawn looks like Indian strawberry. See the attached link to identify and look at your site conditions that need to be addressed to reduce the weed. http://extension.umd.edu/hgic/indian-mock-strawberry
Look at our link on control options. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/lawns/control-options This is a perennial broadleaf weed. Look for a postemergent broadleaf weed control. The herbicides may contain a combination of ingredients and there may be many tradenames. If this weed covers more than 50% of your lawn, then you should consider lawn renovation this fall. See our publication http://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG102%20Lawn%20Estab...
