My garlic is about 1.5 ft high and looks really healthy. How do I know when it is ready to harvest? I ready July, but wanted to ask. Also, once I harvest it, can I keep some of the cloves to plant again in the fall? How do I store them so they stay fresh? Thanks.

Please see our vegetable profile on garlic for harvesting and storage information. You can replant the largest cloves in the fall as long as they were purchased from reputable seed sources and not the grocery store as the cloves can be a symptomless disease carrier. Also, make sure the cloves have not sprouted and have no disease issues.
