Dead hydrangea buds

Asked April 27, 2016, 11:30 AM EDT

Some of my plants got buds in the Fall but are now dried up and dead. Before reading this forum, I cut them all back. Is there any hope for new growth?

There's always hope until there isn't. :) You should see new growth emerging from the ground. Sometimes stems look dead, but be patient and give the plant time. You should learn more about your specific variety of hydrangea and how it is supposed to perform in your hardiness zone. mbgplantfinder.com is a great place to research plants.
