partial tree dying @ flower stage

Asked April 21, 2016, 10:07 PM EDT

The tree in question is a sunrise apple. I live on Vancouver Island just north of Seattle WA.

The tree is 6 yrs old and produced well last year but I did have codling moth problems.

A week or so ago I noticed that some flowers were not doing well and the leaves were going brown

and curling up. This is on about 1/3 of the tree. The rest of the tree looks fine. Can just a few branches die?? Thanks for any help.........allan

I suspect the tree has fire blight. But, a picture would really help. Here is a link to information on fire blight. http://treefruit.wsu.edu/fire-blight/. Give it a read and see if the symptoms of this disease lineup with your problem.
